Ebook About
**THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER**"The Minimalists show you how to disconnect from our conditioned material state and reconnect to our true essence: love people and use things. This is not a book about how to live with less, but about how to live more deeply and more fully."—Jay Shetty, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Like a MonkAS SEEN ON THE NETFLIX DOCUMENTARIES MINIMALISM & LESS IS NOWHow might your life be better with less?Imagine a life with less: less stuff, less clutter, less stress and debt and discontent—a life with fewer distractions. Now, imagine a life with more: more time, more meaningful relationships, more growth and contribution and contentment—a life of passion, unencumbered by the trappings of the chaotic world around you. What you’re imagining is an intentional life. And to get there, you’ll have to let go of some clutter that’s in the way. In Love People, Use Things, Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus move past simple decluttering to show how minimalism makes room to reevaluate and heal the seven essential relationships in our lives: stuff, truth, self, money, values, creativity, and people. They use their own experiences—and those of the people they have met along the minimalist journey—to provide a template for how to live a fuller, more meaningful life.Because once you have less, you can make room for the right kind of more.

Book Love People, Use Things: Because the Opposite Never Works Review :

I used to really enjoy the minimalists, but now they seem to perceive themselves as deities we all need to bow down to as they birth yet one more ridiculous book full of their shoulds and their notions of what they think will solve societal issues and lead us to happiness and self fulfillment. It’s barf worthy and frankly - laughable.Joshua is so stuck on his ability to string interesting words together it comes off like reading a self help version of Pride and Prejudice. I was more fascinated by the vocabulary. Left me wondering who the editor is? LOLDon’t bother your wallet.
Love People, Use Things is probably the right book for the right person. I’m not that person.I should start by stating I have no attachment to “things.” I’m not a minimalist, but I have no problem getting rid of stuff. I don’t like clutter. So I didn’t need instruction on how to declutter my home, though it’s always interesting to get other people’s perspectives on the process. I was, however, interested in the topic of how and why people become attached to things in the first place.I’m not sure the authors reached that goal of helping people evaluate and heal their relationships with people (and themselves) in order to detach from things, though they offer some helpful tidbits scattered within the rambling content.Joshua Fields Millburn is the main writer here, and much of this book is anecdotes from his life. He seems to be reaching toward a memoir that glorifies his triumphs over hardships, while weaving in self-help, how-to, and life lessons. For me, the content lacked focus, became repetitive, meandered. In fact, the writing is the exact opposite of the minimalist ideal. The tone comes off as condescending and overly simplified. Blanket statements start with the assumption that all debt is a result of poor financial planning. Heaping shame on top of a person struggling to survive is absolutely not constructive assistance.I was bored, irritated, and I skimmed the last half.If clutter and/or letting go of material things is an issue for you, then you might find this book helpful. Even so, it’s not one I’d recommend.*I received a free copy from Celadon Books.*
